Job Summary

GM Payroll

12-Month Fixed Term (with possible extension)

Location- Coomera- QLD

We are seeking an experienced payroll leader to oversee end-to-end payroll operations for our Southern Region. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate compliant and timely payroll delivery across a complex workforce.

Reporting to the Head of Payroll and leading a team of Payroll Officers you will play a critical role in maintaining payroll integrity strengthening controls and providing expert support on complex payroll matters.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for the Southern Region
Process and manage monthly salary and wage payrolls accurately and on time
Ensure full compliance with legislative requirements Awards and Enterprise Agreements
Act as the first point of escalation for complex payroll queries
Lead coach and develop a team of Payroll Officers
Prepare reconciliations and statutory payments including PAYG superannuation and payroll tax
Produce accurate weekly and monthly payroll reporting
Drive continuous improvement across payroll systems processes and controls
Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

About You

Demonstrated experience managing full-function payroll in a complex environment
Proven experience overseeing large payrolls (1000 employees) across multiple Awards/EBAs
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
Highly resilient with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
Confident managing escalations and complex payroll matters
Advanced reporting and reconciliation capability
iChris system knowledge highly is essential
Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
