GM Payroll
12-Month Fixed Term (with possible extension)
Location- Coomera- QLD
We are seeking an experienced payroll leader to oversee end-to-end payroll operations for our Southern Region. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring accurate compliant and timely payroll delivery across a complex workforce.
Reporting to the Head of Payroll and leading a team of Payroll Officers you will play a critical role in maintaining payroll integrity strengthening controls and providing expert support on complex payroll matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end payroll operations for the Southern Region
- Process and manage monthly salary and wage payrolls accurately and on time
- Ensure full compliance with legislative requirements Awards and Enterprise Agreements
- Act as the first point of escalation for complex payroll queries
- Lead coach and develop a team of Payroll Officers
- Prepare reconciliations and statutory payments including PAYG superannuation and payroll tax
- Produce accurate weekly and monthly payroll reporting
- Drive continuous improvement across payroll systems processes and controls
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
About You
- Demonstrated experience managing full-function payroll in a complex environment
- Proven experience overseeing large payrolls (1000 employees) across multiple Awards/EBAs
- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Highly resilient with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
- Confident managing escalations and complex payroll matters
- Advanced reporting and reconciliation capability
- iChris system knowledge highly is essential
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills
