Job Summary

Te Whiwhinga Mahi The Opportunity

Te Pūtahi Mātauranga The Faculty of Arts and Education is seeking a Tuākana Coordinator to support the delivery of the Tuākana programme for Māori and Pacific undergraduate students. Working in partnership with the Tuākana Team Leader and as part of Student Support and Engagement this role contributes to a welcoming connected learning community that enhances the engagement transition and success of Māori and Pacific students.

You will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating Tuākana-teina workshops student events and day-to-day programme activity
  • Supporting and training student mentors alongside programme administration and reporting
  • Managing programme communications and Canvas content and supporting outreach to students requiring additional support
  • Providing administrative and budget support in line with University guidelines

This is a full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent position.
The remuneration range for this position is $63600$79300 depending on skills and experience.

Our preferred candidate will have: 

  • Experience supporting Māori and/or Pacific students through mentoring leadership or support programmes
  • Strong organisation skills and a collaborative relationship-focused approach
  • Clear communication skills and confidence working across a range of stakeholders
  • An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its relevance in a tertiary setting
