Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice that proactively manages and delivers to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons 98 courts and 141 community correctional sites.
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised National Programme Coordinator to support the successful delivery of projects across our client portfolio. This role is focused on coordinating and driving project activities from planning through to completion ensuring they are delivered safely on time within budget and to the highest standards. Working closely with internal teams subcontractors and clients you will play a key role in maintaining strong relationships supporting programme performance and contributing to the overall success of our operations.
What Youll Do
This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:
Champion a Zero Harm culture ensuring all activities meet strict health and safety standards
- Support the planning and management of a diverse project programme across client portfolios
- Assist Project Managers in scoping estimating coordinating and delivering projects across electrical mechanical HVAC and facilities disciplines
- Take ownership of end-to-end project delivery ensuring projects are completed on time within budget and to contract specifications
- Collaborate with internal teams subcontractors and clients to plan schedule and execute works including documentation and procurement processes
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and value-driven service delivery
- Contribute to reporting continuous improvement and team success while supporting broader business objectives

Champion a strong Zero Harm health and safety culture
Demonstrate foundational project delivery scoping and costing capabilities (graduate/entry level)
Support programme coordination across multiple concurrent projects (bulk works experience advantageous)
Bring relevant technical knowledge or qualifications (e.g. Project Management Engineering Electrical)
Thrive in a fast-paced changing environment with sound judgement and professionalism
Show strong organisational prioritisation and time management skills to meet deadlines
Communicate effectively and build positive working relationships as a collaborative team player
Display initiative ownership and problem-solving ability with a motivated can-do and improvement-focused mindset
