About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Immunisation Coordinator to lead and support the delivery of immunisation services across the Wairarapa. Youll work closely with general practices iwi and Pacific providers Te Whatu Ora outreach teams and community organisations to improve immunisation rates and reduce equity gaps for Māori Pacific and high needs populations.

This role is perfect for someone who is passionate about public health confident building relationships and committed to supporting safe and effective immunisation services across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Wairarapa Immunisation Programme to achieve national targets.
  • Provide education clinical support and evidence-based advice to immunisation providers.
  • Strengthen partnerships with Māori and Pacific providers to improve access and equity.
  • Support onboarding of new immunisation and COVID-19 vaccination providers.
  • Promote accurate immunisation messaging and lead immunisation awareness activities.
  • Monitor provider performance and support quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure Cold Chair Accreditation and safe vaccine storage across the district.
  • Chair and coordinate local immunisation stakeholder/working group meetings.

About You

  • Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practising Certificate
  • Independent Authorised Vaccinator status.
  • Current CPR certificate
  • 3-5 years vaccinating experience (whole-of-life).
  • Strong knowledge of primary care cold chain management and the National Immunisation Schedule.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to mentor educate and support providers.
  • Full clean drivers licence.
  • Experience in primary health immunisation or child health.
  • Experience with PMS systems and AIR.
