Schedule: 5 Days/Week Day Shift 8:00 AM 4:00 PM 37.5 Hours/Week
Compensation
Gross Weekly: $2914
W2 Rate: $22/hour
Weekly Stipend: $2240
Position Overview
A leading healthcare facility in New York City is seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13-week contract assignment within the Operating Room. The ideal candidate will have strong Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) experience and the ability to support surgical teams in a fast-paced high-acuity hospital environment.
The Operating Room Technician will assist surgeons and nursing staff during operative procedures while maintaining a sterile field and ensuring adherence to safety and infection control standards.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain sterile surgical fields following aseptic techniques.
Set up surgical instruments equipment and supplies according to procedure requirements.
Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating instrument and supply needs.
Maintain accurate sponge needle and instrument counts in collaboration with circulating nurse.
Ensure proper handling of specimens in accordance with hospital policy.
Support patient positioning and safe transfers before and after procedures.
Assist in room turnover and preparation for subsequent surgeries.
Maintain compliance with infection control and safety regulations.
Required Qualifications
CST Certification Required
Completion of an accredited Certified Surgical Technologist Training Program Required
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room Surgical Tech experience
CVOR (Cardiovascular OR) experience Mandatory
High School Diploma or equivalent
Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a surgical team
Physical stamina to meet the demands of the OR environment
