Job Title: Registered Nurse Trauma Operating Room
Location: Miami Florida
Position Type: Full-Time Permanent
Position Overview
A leading acute care hospital in Miami Florida is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) Trauma Operating Room to join its high-acuity surgical services team. This role is responsible for providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care to trauma and emergency surgical patients in a fast-paced Level I/II Trauma environment.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment the ability to remain calm under pressure and expertise in trauma surgical procedures.
Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care to trauma patients undergoing emergent and scheduled surgical procedures.
Serve as circulator and/or scrub nurse in trauma and emergency surgeries.
Perform preoperative assessments and ensure proper patient preparation.
Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists surgical technologists and interdisciplinary team members.
Monitor patient status throughout procedures and respond rapidly to changes in condition.
Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection control standards.
Document patient care accurately and timely in accordance with hospital policies.
Participate in on-call rotation as required for trauma coverage.
Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida (or compact state).
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
Minimum 23 years of Operating Room experience.
Trauma OR experience required.
Current BLS certification.
ACLS and PALS certifications (preferred or required per facility policy).
Strong critical thinking communication and teamwork skills.
