About the Role
The Performing Arts Technician will provide technical support for the schools music drama and performing arts activities ensuring that lighting sound and stage equipment are prepared and maintained to a high standard.
Working closely with teaching staff and the Performing Arts department you will support lessons rehearsals school productions and events contributing to a creative learning environment where students can explore performance and production skills.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for performing arts lessons rehearsals concerts and school productions
Set up operate and maintain lighting sound and audio-visual equipment for performances and events
Assist staff and students with stage management technical rehearsals and live productions
Ensure equipment is stored maintained and used safely in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Support the preparation of performance spaces including staging microphones speakers and lighting rigs
Maintain an organised inventory of technical equipment and report faults or repair requirements
Assist with recording performances and managing audio or video equipment where required
Support extracurricular activities such as school productions concerts and drama performances
Work collaboratively with teaching staff to ensure smooth delivery of events and performances
Uphold safeguarding equality and school policies at all times
The Ideal Candidate
Experience working with lighting sound or stage equipment in a theatre school or events environment
Knowledge of audio-visual technology and live performance production
Ability to organise and maintain technical equipment and performance spaces
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues
Excellent communication and teamwork skills when working with staff and students
A flexible approach including occasional support for events outside normal school hours
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
