The University of Rio Grande is seeking a full-time Head Bowling Coach to lead and manage both the mens and womens intercollegiate bowling programs. This position is responsible for the overall development recruitment training and competitive success of the programs while fostering academic achievement sportsmanship and personal growth among student-athletes. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Plan organize and conduct effective practices and competitive strategies for both mens and womens bowling programs.
- Recruit evaluate and retain qualified student-athletes in accordance with NAIA United States Bowling Congress and institutional guidelines.
- Promote academic success character development and positive team culture.
- Prepare lineups develop match strategies and provide technical instruction and performance feedback.
- Coordinate team travel scheduling and logistics in collaboration with the athletic department.
- Monitor and support student-athlete academic progress and eligibility requirements.
- Manage program budgets and equipment inventories.
- Maintain compliance with all institutional conference USBC and NAIA rules and regulations.
- Build positive relationships with campus partners alumni and the local bowling community.
- Represent the University at athletic campus and community events.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelors degree required (Masters degree preferred).
- Previous collegiate coaching experience or high-level competitive bowling experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of bowling techniques lane play and competitive strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit and develop student-athletes.
- Excellent communication leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work evenings weekends and travel as required.
- Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Prior experience coaching both mens and womens programs.
- Knowledge of USBC and NAIA rules and regulations.
- Experience in program administration and budget management.
- Commitment to student-athlete academic success and holistic development.
