Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year residential liberal arts transfer institution dedicated to preparing students for successful transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a true hidden gem located just outside the Tri Cities regionset on more than 750 acres of wetlands serene forest and home to Virginias oldest and largest pecan grove.

The College is now entering its third season of womens basketball and has already emerged as a national contenderfinishing National Runner Up in NJCAA Division II in its inaugural season. As a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Region 10 RBC continues to build a strong reputation for competitive excellence.
Richard Bland College is seeking a dynamic and visionary Head Womens Basketball Coach to lead its nationally recognized program. Reporting directly to the Director of Athletics the successful candidate will oversee all phases of the womens basketball program in compliance with NJCAA rules and College policies. This role includes recruiting and developing student athletes managing program operations and fostering a culture of teamwork academic success integrity and competitive achievement.

Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Student Athlete Development
Recruit and retain qualified student athletes; ensure timely submission of academic records for admissions.
Meet college identified annual recruiting goals.
Provide instruction in athletic skills game strategies sportsmanship and personal development.
Support student athletes in balancing academic athletic and personal responsibilities.
Program Leadership & Athletic Performance
Develop strategies to motivate individual and team performance.
Promote appropriate personal and social conduct both on and off campus.
Plan and execute practice sessions game preparation and in game coaching.
Team & Staff Management
Direct and supervise assistant coaches and training personnel.
Oversee player development team cohesion and performance standards.
Operations & Administration
Participate in the planning and management of the team budget.
Coordinate all home events including event setup scheduling referees and training event staff.
Manage team travel logistics and required documentation in accordance with College policies.
Community & Campus Engagement
Actively participate in campus programs and initiatives.
Lead the development and coordination of team community service projects.
Coordinate team fundraising efforts to supplement operational expenses.
Additional Duties
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the College.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited institution
Considerable years of coaching experience (High School Club or College) or playing experience as a collegiate athlete
Experience working collaboratively with diverse groups (e.g. faculty staff students).
Valid drivers license
Additional Considerations
Extensive experience playing or coaching at the collegiate level
Background and experience working within a collegiate recreation and/or athletic department
Experience with the management of students and complex student schedules
Working knowledge and understanding of NJCAA or NCAA policies and procedures
Proven ability to coordinate successful team fundraisers
