Job Summary

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Financial and Commercial Management

Prepare manage and control the full warehouse profit and loss including budgeting forecasting cost control and variance analysis
Monitor and manage all operational costs including labour equipment consumables utilities and transport-related expenses
Analyse financial performance and implement corrective actions to ensure alignment with budgeted targets and profitability objectives
Identify develop and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality operational efficiency and compliance standards
Ensure all agreed financial objectives productivity targets and performance metrics are consistently achieved

Customer and Stakeholder Management

Build develop and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure service excellence and high levels of customer satisfaction
Ensure service level agreements and key performance indicators are clearly defined agreed upon measured and consistently met
Manage customer queries complaints and escalations in a timely professional and solutions-focused manner
Act as the primary point of contact for all warehouse-related customer engagements and operational discussions
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align warehouse operations with customer requirements and business objectives

Warehouse Operations Management

Oversee all inbound storage picking packing and dispatch activities to ensure operational efficiency accuracy and compliance
Ensure picking plans are aligned with daily volumes order priorities and customer delivery requirements
Monitor picking rates throughput and productivity targets implementing corrective actions where performance gaps are identified
Track daily operational performance and ensure deviations are investigated and resolved
Ensure stock is correctly palletised labelled stored and laid out in accordance with warehouse standards and operational procedures
Ensure stock rotation principles such as FIFO and FEFO are consistently applied
Ensure cycle counts and full stock counts are conducted at prescribed intervals with variances investigated and resolved
Implement maintain and enforce all stock control procedures to ensure high levels of inventory accuracy
Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure discrepancies are minimised and managed effectively

Systems and Process Management

Manage and optimise the Warehouse Management System to drive operational efficiency accuracy and customer satisfaction
Ensure system integrity accurate data capture and reliable operational reporting
Identify opportunities for process optimisation and implement best-practice warehouse processes
Ensure all operational processes are documented communicated and consistently adhered to

People Management and Leadership

Lead manage and control all warehouse staff ensuring adequate staffing levels and appropriate skills coverage
Monitor daily attendance and confirm headcount per operational area through attendance and timekeeping records
Conduct formal annual performance appraisals and regular performance discussions to support employee development
Hold regular team meetings to address operational challenges performance issues and employee concerns
Foster a positive employee relations environment and maintain effective communication with all staff
Ensure discipline attendance productivity and conduct standards are consistently applied across the warehouse

Equipment and Resource Management

Manage material-handling and warehouse equipment requirements ensuring availability suitability and operational readiness
Coordinate equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards
Ensure equipment is used correctly responsibly and safely at all times

Health Safety Security and Compliance

Ensure the safety and security of employees visitors stock and warehouse assets at all times
Ensure full compliance with occupational health and safety legislation internal policies and site rules
Manage hazardous goods and materials in accordance with legislative and operational requirements
Ensure safety meetings are conducted regularly and safety standards are consistently upheld
Ensure correct use of personal protective equipment and safety gear at all times
Maintain high housekeeping standards and implement structured workplace organisation practices
Conduct regular inspections to identify risks damages or non-compliance and ensure corrective actions are implemented

Housekeeping and Site Standards

Ensure the highest standards of cleanliness order and organisation are maintained across all warehouse areas
Monitor warehouse sections to ensure operational efficiency safety and compliance with site standards
Identify investigate and manage damages returns and stock discrepancies arising from inspections or operational debriefs
