Senior Data Governance & Metadata Architect

Role: Senior Data Governance & Metadata Architect.

Location: Mt. Laurel NJ (Onsite).

Duration: 12 Months.

Role Overview:

• Serve as the strategic and technical lead for enterprise data governance defining how data is governed exchanged and cataloged organization-wide. Beyond data modeling this role establishes DCAT open standards configures Collibra operating models and influences senior leadership with clear governance strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Standards & Exchange Frameworks:

• Design and maintain data exchange frameworks using DCAT (Data Catalog Vocabulary) and RDF standards ensuring interoperability across business units systems and external partners.
• Establish enterprise metadata standards and cataloging conventions aligned with open standards for discoverability and reuse.

Collibra Technical Leadership:

• Act as Collibra Subject Matter Expert (SME) leading hands-on configuration of operating models workflow automation and asset integration.
• Configure Communities Domains Asset Types business glossaries data catalogs and governance workflows.
• Implement data lineage quality rules policy enforcement and stewardship workflows.

Enterprise Data Modeling:

• Utilize Erwin Data Modeler to create robust logical and physical data models serving as governance foundation across enterprise systems.
• Design reference data models supporting governed data assets and exchange standards.

Strategic Governance Leadership:

• Develop comprehensive Data Governance strategy aligning with enterprise objectives around data lineage quality metadata management and compliance.
• Present complex governance concepts confidently to senior leadership and technical teams providing strategic direction and business justification.

Required Technical Expertise:

• Data Governance: Collibra (Communities Domains Asset Types workflows lineage quality rules stewardship).
• Standards: DCAT RDF Dublin Core metadata exchange standards semantic web.
• Modeling: Erwin Data Modeler (logical/physical modeling forward/reverse engineering enterprise standards).
• Frameworks: DAMA-DMBOK CDMP enterprise data governance frameworks.

Leadership & Communication Requirements:

• Strategic Clarity: Articulate the business why behind governance decisions moving beyond tactical execution to influence enterprise strategy.
• Technical Confidence: Demonstrate deep hands-on expertise through white-boarding solutions in real-time during technical evaluations-no reliance on external aids.
• Executive Communication: Lead high-pressure discussions with C-level stakeholders translating technical governance into business value.

Experience Profile:

• 12 years Data Governance / Architecture leadership.
• Proven Collibra implementation (operating model design workflow config).
• DCAT/RDF standards implementation experience.
• Erwin Data Modeler enterprise deployments.
• Financial Services/Banking regulatory environments.
• API governance or data mesh architecture exposure.

Certifications:

• Collibra Certified Solution Architect or Data Governance Professional strongly preferred.
