Qualifications
Languages: English - Spanish
Education:A college university or other non-university certificate or diploma in EarlyChildhood Education.
Experience:At least a 1 year
Onsite: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no optionto work remotely.
Worksite environment: Indoors and Outdoors
Worksetting: Childcare centre urban area; relocation costs not covered by employer
Responsibilities
- Evaluatethe childs development to create a personalised learning plan.
- Developand implement child-care programs that support and promote the physicalcognitive emotional and social development of children
- Storytelling
- Supervisestaff trainees or volunteers
- Synthesizethe overall situation of the children and communicate the information to theparents
- Assistearly childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physicalcognitive emotional and social development of children
- Leadactivities by telling or reading stories teaching songs and taking children tolocal points of interest
- Assistearly childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
- Encouragechildren to express creativity through the media of art dramatic play musicand physical activity
- Engagechildren in activities by telling stories teaching songs and preparing crafts
- Guideand assist children in the development of proper eating dressing and toilethabits
- Preparesnacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods
- Observechildren for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and preparereports for parents guardians or supervisor
- Submitwritten observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors
- Discussprogress and problems of children at staff meetings
- Knowledgeof licensing regulations
- Establishguidelines for behaviour
- Attendstaff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- Establishand maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community serviceproviders working with children
- Planand maintain an environment that protects the health security and well-beingof children
- Superviseand co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and earlychildhood educator assistants
