Job Description
As a Security Officer - Armed Driver Patrol Route in Spruce Pine NC you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. As an Armed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government corrections location you will conduct routine rounds stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents and support staff and visitors through clear communication and customer service. This post requires a valid drivers license to complete vehicle patrols and respond across the site as needed. Bring integrity teamwork and a people-first mindset to every shift.

What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to staff visitors and authorized contractors while carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities at a government correctional location.
- Conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings grounds entrances and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
- Control access by checking identification verifying authorization screening for prohibited items per post orders and directing individuals to appropriate areas.
- Respond to alarms incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner coordinating with site personnel and/or public law enforcement as directed.
- Complete security-related reports and logs document incidents and unusual activity and communicate status updates to supervision according to post orders.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A valid drivers license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- An armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
