A 2nd Class Boiler Operator in a steel manufacturing company
operates and maintains high-pressure boilers and auxiliary equipment to ensure consistent steam production for manufacturing processes. Key responsibilities include monitoring troubleshooting and repairing boiler systems adhering to strict safety protocols and managing water treatment to maintain optimal efficiency.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Operations & Control:Operate monitor and control industrial boilers (including Fluidized Bed Combustion/FBC boilers) and auxiliaries (pumps fans water treatment) using DCS or manual controls to maintain steam fuel and air ratios.
- Maintenance & Inspection:Perform daily inspections routine maintenance cleaning lubricating and troubleshooting of boiler systems.
- Safety & Compliance:Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment Health and Safety) standards perform and oversee boiler blowdown and water quality analysis.
- Documentation:Maintain detailed logs of operational parameters (pressures temperatures fuel levels).
- Maintenance Support:Assist in handing over equipment for shutdown and inspection.
Requirements:
- Qualification:Valid 2nd Class Boiler Operator Certificate.
- Experience:25 years of experience preferably in a steel plant captive power plant or industrial setting.
- Skills:Proficiency with boiler controls (DCS/PLC) and troubleshooting technical problems.
Physical and Work Environment:
- Requires standing walking climbing and lifting.
- The work environment is high-temperature loud and requires constant safety awareness (PPE usage).
