This position assists teachers in implementing instructional and non-instructional activities supporting students with diverse learning emotional behavioral and developmental needs. The long-term substitute is expected to maintain continuity of classroom routines behavioral programs and instructional support to ensure a stable and productive learning DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOther duties may be assigned as needed to support classroom the special education teacher in daily classroom operations including instructional and non-instructional implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under the direction of certified understanding sensitivity and responsiveness to students academic emotional and behavioral individual and small-group academic support as directed by the prescribed behavioral management and intervention programs with consistency and classroom structure and routines to ensure stability during the teachers students in classroom hallway cafeteria playground and community-based settings as in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays including bulletin boards and visual accurate records of student work behavior data and progress monitoring as assignments objectives and directions on the board as student work and provides feedback under teacher and records achievement and diagnostic assessments as directed by certified effectively with teachers related service providers administrators and families as appropriate to the confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with district policies and state/federal duties in alignment with district policies and School Committee RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises students in the absence of the teacher when oversight of students during transitions and non-classroom activities as REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
