Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist
Job Summary
Marine Chevrolet is a well-established fast-paced automotive dealership dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining a strong commitment to operational excellence since 1946. We are seeking an experiencedAP/AR Specialistto join our team.
The AP/AR Specialist is responsible for processing and maintaining vendor invoices payments and reconciliations while also managing customer receivables and payment posting. This dual role supports dealership operations by ensuring accuracy timeliness and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Process and code invoices ensuring accuracy and compliance with dealership policies.
- Prepare and issue payments to vendors (checks ACH credit card etc.).
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organized AP records and files.
- Assist with month-end closing accruals and reporting.
Accounts Receivable
- Process and post customer payments including checks credit cards and electronic transfers.
- Monitor outstanding balances and prepare aging reports.
- Reconcile AR accounts and follow up on past-due accounts in coordination with management.
- Deposit and apply customer payments accurately and promptly.
- Assist with warranty receivables manufacturer incentives and internal chargebacks as required.
Qualifications
- Minimum of2 years of combined Accounts Payable and/or Receivable experience(automotive dealership experience highly preferred).
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel Outlook) and dealership management software.
- High attention to detail accuracy and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Submits and completes a successful Background Check and Drug Screen.
