Second in Charge of Science to support a high-achieving and well-resourced department
Full-time position April start
Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Second in Charge of Science to join an Outstanding school in Winchester from April. This is an excellent opportunity for a strong Science practitioner looking to step into leadership or for an existing Second in Department seeking a new challenge.
The successful candidate will support the Head of Science with curriculum planning assessment strategy tracking progress and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning across Biology Chemistry and Physics. You will also play a key role in mentoring colleagues supporting ECTs and contributing to departmental development planning. A teaching timetable across KS3 & KS4 is expected with the opportunity to teach KS5 in your specialism.
The Science department is exceptionally well resourced with modern laboratories excellent technician support and a collaborative team of subject specialists. Leadership within the department is supportive academically focused and committed to continuous improvement.

Experience and Qualifications
Qualified Teacher with QTS (or equivalent)
Proven experience teaching Science across KS3 & KS4 (KS5 desirable)
Strong subject knowledge in a Science specialism
Leadership potential or previous experience supporting a department
