Our client a well-established independent 1118 day school in Ipswich is seeking a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join their Estates team ASAP. This is a full-time permanent role offering the opportunity to maintain and enhance the schools excellent facilities within a welcoming and professional environment.

About the Role
The Caretaker will be responsible for the smooth running and upkeep of the schools buildings grounds and facilities. You will ensure a safe clean and well-maintained environment for pupils staff and visitors. The role includes monitoring site security performing routine maintenance and supporting events and school functions.
Key responsibilities include:
Opening and closing the school site including security checks
Performing minor maintenance and repairs
Reporting and coordinating larger repairs with contractors
Supporting school events and extracurricular activities
Ensuring compliance with health & safety and site procedures
The Ideal Candidate
Previous experience in facilities management caretaking or maintenance preferred
Practical skills in plumbing electrical or general maintenance advantageous
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Friendly approachable and proactive
