About this role
Manages the trade preference process within Dows Trade Compliance software application GTS for RISE and handles a variety of exceptions while advising internal and external stakeholders on general preferential status related issues.
This role requires that you gain proficiency through on-the-job training and experience. You need deep skills in this discipline through knowledge of a range of processes procedures and systems. You also need a broad understanding of Trade Preference and know how to apply knowledge and skills to complete assigned tasks. You should understand how your team works with others to accomplish objectives and be able to exchange detailed complicated information with other team members.
Requirements
- Analytical skills with proficiency in data interpretation and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of Logistics and Trade Preference processes
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Handles a variety of exceptions in the import export process and advises internal customers on general trade compliance related issues. Requires established basic technical skills to perform a range of routine work activities using existing standard operating procedures and or analytical scientific methods. Completes assigned tasks with a close to moderate degree of this role you will be using your prior related experience job-related training or vocational training to complete routine activities. You will need to have basic technical or administrative skills to follow the established and approved work processes. You will need to understand how these assigned duties relate to other jobs within your workgroup and be able to exchange basic technical information with other team members. It is your responsibility to use standard operating procedures and or analytical scientific methods to address defined and straightforward problems. You must have the ability to select solutions from established options to resolve typical administrative data organization and data coordination problems. You will be accountable for managing your own assigned workload with no additional supervisory responsibilities. Your performance impacts the quality of your own work as well as your teams work. You will receive close to moderate level of supervision and guidance in this role. Job specifics Duties projects tasks and activities you would be responsible for in this role
Managing the overall trade preference process:
Execution of preference calculations for finished materials and preference status updates
Execution of corrections in the systems and document revisions
Requesting analyzing (based on free trade agreements) and posting long-term vendor declarations on the GTS for RISE system
Handling escalations from customers vendors and internal stakeholders
Cooperating with internal stakeholders and specialists to manage the overall trade preference process
Handles daily exceptions and facilitates resolutions between Site Logistics carriers and government authorities
Reports to government agent on a daily basis
Resolves issues related to issuing of border crossing documents (ATRs EURs)
Performs first level escalation for operational issues identified by the Customs Administrator
Participates in Supply Chain related projects
Supports the administrative process in the trade compliance team
Qualifications Required education: Associate degree Experience: 2-3 years of experience. The critical competencies required for success are: understanding customer needs team work taking initiative time management technical proficiency in use of computer applications
