Duties & Responsibilities

Our client a dynamic and technology-driven organisation within the financial services sector is seeking a high-calibre Financial Manager to take ownership of the full finance function. This role is suited to a detail-oriented and commercially minded professional who can ensure accurate financial reporting strengthen controls and provide meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving financial excellence maintaining regulatory compliance and leading a capable finance team in a fast-paced performance-focused environment.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee and manage the full accounting function to ensure accurate complete and timely financial reporting
Review monthly and annual financial statements to ensure compliance with IFRS and internal standards
Manage daily cash flow and ensure effective cash management across the business
Prepare and review month-end files including reconciliations and supporting documentation for the trial balance
Lead the budgeting and forecasting process including capital planning and financial projections
Ensure all statutory and regulatory submissions are completed accurately and within deadlines
Manage the external audit process including reviewing audit files reconciliations and supporting schedules
Analyse financial data identify trends or anomalies and provide actionable insights to stakeholders
Develop implement and continuously improve financial policies controls and procedures
Lead and mentor the finance team setting clear objectives and driving high performance and accountability

Qualifications:

Matric (Grade 12)
BCom in Financial Accounting or equivalent (Essential)
CA(SA) qualification from a SAICA-accredited institution
Honours degree in Accounting or related field (Advantageous)

Experience:

Completed articles (Essential)
Minimum 1-2 years post-articles experience in a finance role
Experience within the financial services industry (Advantageous)
Proven experience managing and developing a finance team
Strong exposure to financial reporting compliance and audit processes
