Job Description
As a Security Officer - Port Patrol in Richmond VA you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government maritime transportation location you will monitor and patrol assigned areas complete routine rounds and remain visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will document observations support access control and communicate clearly with staff and visitors while delivering service with integrity. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to onsite personnel and visitors by following Allied Universal post orders security-related procedures site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities at a government location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including de-escalation notifying appropriate contacts and documenting actions taken.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of buildings docks parking areas and perimeter zones; working environments and conditions may vary by site and weather.
- Support access control by checking identification and authorization monitoring entry and exit points directing visitors and assisting with vehicle and/or pedestrian screening as required by post orders.
- Operate and monitor security-related systems such as cameras alarms and radio communications; complete activity logs and incident reports per policy.
Minimum Requirements:
- A TSA issued TWIC is required.
- CPR certification is preferred and may be completed post hire.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
