The Senior Finance Officer provides strategic and operational financial oversight for the Sponsorship Program ensuring efficient compliant and high-quality utilization of funds across Sponsorship Impact Areas. The role safeguards financial integrity value for money and adherence to organizational policies and donor requirements while consolidating and reviewing financial reports for submission to members donors and key stakeholders. The post holder supports budget holders in monitoring the Detailed Implementation and Financial Plan (DIFP) and ensures strong performance against Budget versus Actual (BvA) targets. As a key technical partner to the Director of Sponsorship the Senior Finance Officer delivers timely financial analysis forecasts and insights to support adaptive evidence-based decision making. The role leads the development and continuous enhancement of a functional program financial dashboard integrating BvA Targets versus Actuals (TvA) and key performance indicators and conducts regular financial reviews variance analysis and transaction audits. Through close coordination with finance supply chain and program teams the post holder proactively flags risks identifies efficiencies and ensures effective financial systems that enable uninterrupted quality program implementation and sustainability planning.
Requirements
Essential skills knowledge or experience
- Must have at least 3 years of work experience in the finance department in a civil society organization or private sector
- Understanding of grants management and financial systems and procedures
- Demonstrated analytical skills in finance
- Experience in a computerized environment and knowledge in the use of accounting packages (knowledge of AGRESSO is highly preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desirable skills knowledge or experience
- Understanding of Save the Childrens vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives; willing to adopt Save the Children methodology and framework in program implementation; abide by and implement Save the Childrens policies including Safeguarding
- Willing to travel to Mindanao and other parts of the country
Required education and qualifications (certifications licenses accreditations etc.)
- Must have completed a degree in accounting
