About the Team & Business Line:

The Investor Relations (IR) Group is responsible for managing investor-related capital activity end-to-end and plays a pivotal role serving as the operational liaison between fund managers and their investors. Our global team deliver comprehensive investor services across all time zones covering relationship management investor onboarding (including KYC/AML) capital activity processing investor & fund reporting cash management record keeping and static data management.

Investor Relations have staff in North America Caribbean Europe and Asia with the majority located in Philippines.

Your Role:

The primary responsibilities of the Investor Relations Control Office are to ensure that within Investor Relations:

• All risks are identified assessed and managed in line with risk appetite.
• The control environment is well-designed comprehensive and effective.
• There is a strong risk culture with high levels of risk awareness.
• Providing support to senior management to ensure that within Investor Relations (i) all risks are identified assessed and managed and ii) the control environment is well-designed comprehensive and effective. This should be achieved in the context of the business strategy and risk appetite and in line with applicable laws and regulations internal policies procedures and limits.
• Supporting the proactive identification and timely recording and escalation of Risk Issues and Operational Risk Events. Ensuring that root cause is identified and solutions to prevent reoccurrence are identified and implemented (where appropriate). Similarly ensuring thatread across of Risk Issues and Operational Risk Events takes place so that learnings from weaknesses identified in one area are applied to all areas.
• Participating in deep dive Risk Reviews within Investor Relations to assess how robustly and comprehensively risks are mitigated and/or investigate potential weaknesses in the control framework. (For example this could involve an assessment of the design and operating effectiveness of controls in an end-to-end process or in a complete customer journey.)
• Supporting robust and comprehensive governance of risk and controls within Investor Relations. This includes ensuring appropriate visibility of the status of risks and controls owned by Middle Office Solutions and escalation of material issues - as well as driving appropriate action from the accountable individuals.
• Providing independent and insightful analysis of the risk and control environment within Investor Relations. For example analysing key risk indicators key control indicators risk ratings control ratings issues events audit findings etc. to identify trends and thematic weaknesses (e.g. unmitigated risks or ineffective controls) that require addressing. Providing guidance on how best to address these concerns.
• Encouraging high levels of risk awareness good risk management and control design / control operation competencies underpinned by a strong risk culture throughout Investor Relations. (This includes ensuring that all staff operate in accordance with risk policy comply with relevant regulation and behave in line with the Citco Corporate Code of Ethics.)

The role reports to the Head of Investor Relations Control Office (based in Toronto) and is responsible for:

You will be most effective in the role if you operate as a trusted advisor providing valued advice and support as well as influencing through constructive challenge. You will need to build strong and collaborative relationships with fellow Control Officers and key stakeholders within Investor Relations as well as key partners within the CFS business Group Risk Management Group Compliance and Group Internal Audit.

Based on organisational priorities you may occasionally be required to operate outside of Investor Relations (for example within another domain in CFS Operations) and/or travel to other Citco offices across the globe.

About You:

• Risk professional with relevant experience ideally in first line risk management / control office roles. Highly numerate with strong analytical skill set and broad industry knowledge.
• An understanding of the importance of acting as a role model and culture carrier. Able to motivate staff across the organisation and generate enthusiasm for and alignment with good risk management practises.
• Good understanding of risk management frameworks and control environments (especially Non-Financial Risk Management) in financial services.
• Broad knowledge of the services offered in the Fund Services domain (including Fund Administration Fund Accounting NAV calculations and Investor Relations) and the end-to-end processes and infrastructure required to deliver these products and services to clients.
• Experience of identifying and addressing deficiencies in risk management and/or control operation across the full product lifecycle and/or end-to-end processes.
• Awareness of market-standard approaches for risk mitigation and control design and execution.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders across all three lines of defence able to become a trusted advisor whilst maintaining the ability to provide robust challenge.
• Excellent communication skills. Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation. Able to convey complex topics simply and to articulate issues in a way that eases decision making and drives action.
