Full Time (80 Hours/Biweekly)

Shift: Days (8-1630)

Monday - Friday

No regular weekends or holidays

On-call time required

General Summary

Manages and coordinates daily inpatient or outpatient activities to ensure quality patient care cost effectiveness and customer service. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory standards



Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Evaluates and recommends treatment and reporting methods for the department.
  • Consults with medical nursing and administrative staff on a regular basis to coordinate patient care.
  • Monitors financial and clinical performance indicators. Acts or recommends action to improve performance in deficient areas.
  • Assists the director of pulmonary with strategic planning for the respective entity (inpatient or outpatient). Acts or recommends action for implementation of goals.
  • Identifies patient/client needs and develops quality programs to meet those needs. Ensures delivery of quality services for patients.
  • Ensures that appropriate standards and practices are developed and met.

Common Expectations:

  • Assists in preparation of the operational budget for the unit. Monitors variance against budget on an ongoing basis.
  • Recommends staffing levels selects and assigns staff evaluates performance evaluates/tests competencies (as applicable) provides orientation training and continuing education of staff and initiates or makes recommendations for personnel actions.
  • Coordinates and integrates services within the department/service line/entity with other departments/service lines/entities and with the Systems primary functions. Participates in the selection of outside services (if needed).
  • Communicates on a regular basis with physicians and/or practice manager to ensure integration of department with physician practice.
  • Develops establishes and implements goals objectives and policies and procedures for department/service line/entity operation and which guide and support the provision of the department/service line/entitys services.
  • Continuously assesses and improves the department/service line/entity/Systems performance. Maintains appropriate quality control/assessment programs (if applicable).
  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and error proof systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Maintains established policies and procedures objectives quality assessment safety environmental and infection control standards.
  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.



Qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Masters Degree Preferred

Work Experience:

  • 3 years As a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Required and
  • 5 years Management experience. Required

Licenses:

  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist Upon Hire Required and
  • Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required
  • Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist Upon Hire Preferred

Courses and Training:

  • Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) Upon Hire Preferred and
  • Asthma Educator-Certified (AE-C) Upon Hire Preferred and
  • Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) Upon Hire Preferred and
  • Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty (NPS) Upon Hire Preferred
