Job Description
This position functions as a team leader over Campus Service Workers in cleaning and maintaining of interior and surrounding exterior appearance of residence halls and related facilities including offices conference rooms classrooms lobbies front desk areas bathrooms showers hallways study lounges breezeways stairwells laundry rooms kitchenettes outside entrances walkways etc. Job responsibilities require the ability to perform work both independently and as a member of a team. Additional requirements may include the ability to perform both indoor and outdoor work such as snow removal treating for ice and trash removal. The Campus Service Worker Lead works closely with supervisors to ensure supplies and materials are adequately stocked throughout buildings as well of communicating repair needs and potential safety hazards to supervisor. Job knowledge of basic method material tools and equipment used in custodial work and routine maintenance. Work is performed under immediate supervision and consists of task that are routine or well defined with specific instructions to achieve standards. Leads also assist supervisors to make sure rooms are clean and checked for cleanliness during summer conferences and when students check out of their rooms for the semester. Campus Service Worker Lead does exercise some judgment in planning and organizing own work but must adhere to specific time process and result standards. Decisions are limited to the application is standardized or accepted practices and errors could result in some cost and inconveniences within the affected area. The Campus Service Worker Lead rotates weeks being on call for emergencies and is responsible for calling out campus service workers when emergency requires additional help with approval from supervisor. Campus Service Worker Lead may need to be called out when they are not scheduled to be on call if the emergency need arises.
