Job Summary

Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is building a world-class last mile operation in Japan. AMZL aims to exceed customer expectations by ensuring orders are delivered quickly accurately and cost-effectively.

The Amazon Logistics Japan Process Engineering team is seeking a Process Engineer to support program management operational planning and engineering project this role you will be the operational backbone of our engineering organization driving visibility accountability and execution excellence across multiple engineering functions.

The successful candidate will lead the creation and delivery of business reviews (MBRs QBRs) operational planning cycles (OP1 OP2 3YF) and implement robust tracking mechanisms for engineering projects. You will work closely with Process Engineering teams to ensure project commitments are tracked cost savings are measured and CAPEX requirements are managed effectively.

This role requires exceptional organizational skills strong communication abilities and the capacity to influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels. You will use tools such as Asana Smartsheet Excel and other project management platforms to maintain real-time visibility of project status risks and dependencies.

This role is based in Tokyo. The position requires business-level English and conversational Japanese. Domestic and international travel may be required (approximately 10-15% of work time).

Key job responsibilities
1. Lead business review mechanisms and operational planning Own the creation coordination and delivery of Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) OP1 OP2 and 3-Year Forward planning documents for the Japan Process Engineering organization ensuring alignment with leadership priorities and business objectives.

2. Implement and manage project tracking mechanisms Design implement and maintain project tracking systems using Asana Smartsheet Excel and other tools to provide real-time visibility into project status milestones cost savings CAPEX requirements and resource allocation across engineering teams.

3. Drive project accountability and execution Follow up with project owners to track implementation status of OP2 commitments identify risks and blockers escalate issues appropriately and ensure projects remain on track to deliver committed outcomes and timelines.

4. Provide regular leadership updates and reporting Prepare and deliver weekly status updates executive summaries and ad-hoc reports for leadership translating complex project data into clear actionable insights that drive decision-making.

5. Support engineering teams with program coordination Partner with Process Engineering teams to coordinate cross-functional initiatives manage dependencies and facilitate communication across geographies and functions as needed.

- Bachelors degree in business administration finance economics computer science data science engineering or other related field
- Experience managing projects
- Experience in analyzing data to drive decisions
- Experience in Business English skills both verbal and written
- Experience with process improvement methodologies and data-driven problem solving
- 3 years of experience as a project manager program manager or related field

- Masters degree in engineering management or technology
- Experience within a distribution center logistics or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and process improvement methodologies
- Speak write and read fluently in Japanese
- Experience working with multiple groups of stakeholders
- Experience working across teams and influencing teams that are not your own
- Demonstrated ability to think big and challenge conventional approaches
