The Organization

This role is in the Takeda Japan Innovation Center (TJIC) as part of the global network of Innovation Capability Centers (ICCs). Our ICCs focus on delivering digital solutions across Takeda and building our internal digital capabilities to ensure we are future-ready.

TJIC collaborates with the global ICCs to supports our Japan based business units and functions with cutting-edge technologies such as AI and big data. The Opportunity

We are seeking a detailoriented and techsavvy System Engineer to provide expert support for our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The ideal candidate will have strong problemsolving skills a deep understanding of laboratory workflows and the ability to ensure the system operates optimally to support laboratory operations.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ 職務内容

System Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide technical assistance to endusers for LIMSrelated issues.
• Diagnose and resolve software hardware and networkrelated errors in coordination with the IT team.

システムサポートトラブルシューティング

• LIMS に関する問題についてエンドユーザーへ技術支援を提供する
• IT チームと連携しソフトウェアハードウェアネットワークに関連する不具合を診断し解決する

System Maintenance

• Monitor LIMS performance and ensure system uptime.
• Implement periodic software updates patches and upgrades in compliance with regulatory standards.

システム保守

• LIMS のパフォーマンスを監視しシステム稼働率アップタイムを確保する
• 規制基準に準拠し定期的なソフトウェア更新パッチ適用アップグレードを実施する

EndUser Training

• Conduct LIMS training sessions for laboratory staff.
• Develop user guides training materials and related documentation.

エンドユーザー教育トレーニング

• 研究室ラボスタッフ向けに LIMS のトレーニングを実施する
• ユーザーガイド研修資料関連ドキュメントを作成する

Configuration & Customization

• Handle configuration requests and tailor the system to support specific laboratory workflows.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define enhance and implement system improvements.

Collaboration

• Act as a liaison between laboratory staff IT teams and thirdparty LIMS vendors.
• Partner with teams to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements data integrity and compliance standards.

Incident Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain detailed logs of technical incidents and resolutions.
• Document system changes and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

EDUCATION BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems or a related field.
• Experience with LIMS platforms (e.g. LabWare LabVantage STARLIMS or similar).
• Strong troubleshooting skills for software SQL databases and systems integration.
• Familiarity with laboratory processes in Pharma Biotech or Healthcare (highly preferred).
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g. GxP FDA 21 CFR Part 11).
• Excellent communication skills and a customerfocused mindset.
• Ability to work independently and perform effectively under pressure.
