Position Summary The Marshall University Joan C. Edwards School of Medicines Department of Cardiovascular Services is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our growing faculty. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex heart failure including pre- and post-transplant care mechanical circulatory support and advanced therapies. This role is part of a dynamic and expanding academic cardiology program in a collegial team-based environment. Faculty physicians enjoy access to state-of-the-art facilities and strong institutional support for both clinical and academic growth. This position does not involve transplant or LVAD implantation as these services are referred to external centers. This appointment is open at the Assistant or Associate Professor level on a clinical track depending on the candidates qualifications and interests. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive care for patients with advanced heart failure including those requiring mechanical circulatory support or transplant evaluation. Participate in the development and advancement of the Advanced Heart Failure program working closely with multidisciplinary teams. Serve as attending physician at one primary site with coverage rotating among two hospitals and satellite clinics. Participate in inpatient rounding every 6th weekend with support from cardiology fellows (no year-round call requirement). Teach and mentor general cardiology fellows residents and medical students in both formal and informal settings. Engage in scholarly activity including quality improvement initiatives clinical research and collaboration with Marshalls translational and biomedical sciences programs.
