Job Summary

Selected interns day-to-day responsibilities include:

Performing daily health checks and security monitoring on edge devices (Raspberry Pi and other Linux-based systems).
Conducting manual security scans to identify suspicious processes unauthorized access malware or abnormal system behavior.
Reviewing system logs (auth logs syslogs cron jobs running services) to detect anomalies.
Assisting in configuring updating and maintaining Ubuntu-based devices with security best practices.
Verifying software integrity and checking for unauthorized installations or modifications.
Supporting patch management by ensuring timely OS and package updates.
Troubleshooting basic hardware and software issues on edge deployments.
Writing simple scripts (Python/Bash) to automate security checks and reporting.
Documenting findings incidents and remediation steps in internal trackers.
Assisting the security team in incident triage and preliminary investigation.

Requirements:

Basic knowledge of Ubuntu/Linux systems (processes services permissions SSH).
Understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts (malware ports firewalls logs privilege escalation).
Familiarity with Raspberry Pi or embedded/Linux-based edge devices.
Basic scripting skills (Python Bash or similar).
Basic understanding of networking (IP ports SSH firewall basics).
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Attention to detail and willingness to learn.
