We are looking for an experienced PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) with strong expertise in migrating enterprise applications from Oracle to PostgreSQL preferably in cloud environments powered by Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on experience in database design performance tuning cloud database services and end-to-end migration strategies.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Database Administration & Support
Install configure and administer PostgreSQL databases (on-premises and Azure environments).
Manage database security access controls backup & recovery and high availability configurations.
Monitor database health and performance ensuring optimal system uptime and reliability.
Oracle to PostgreSQL Migration
Lead end-to-end migration of applications and databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL.
Analyze existing Oracle schemas PL/SQL objects performance patterns and dependencies.
Convert Oracle schema objects stored procedures triggers and packages into PostgreSQL equivalents.
Use and optimize migration tools such as Ora2Pg AWS DMS (if applicable) or custom scripts.
Perform data migration validation and reconciliation activities.
Performance Tuning & Optimization
Conduct deep-dive performance analysis for both Oracle and PostgreSQL environments.
Optimize SQL queries indexes storage parameters and database configurations.
Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks during and post-migration.
Azure Cloud Expertise
Work with Azure services such as Azure Database for PostgreSQL (Single Server/Flexible Server).
Perform deployment scaling monitoring and DR setup on Azure.
Implement CI/CD pipelines for database deployments (Azure DevOps preferred).
Ensure cloud security compliance and governance are met.
Collaboration & Documentation
Work closely with application teams architects and developers during migration.
Provide guidance and best practices for PostgreSQL usage and development.
Create technical documentation migration plans runbooks and knowledge-transfer material.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

69 years of DBA experience with minimum 3 years in PostgreSQL.
Strong experience in Oracle database administration (11g/12c/19c).
Hands-on experience in large-scale Oracle-to-PostgreSQL migrations.
Proficiency in SQL PL/SQL PostgreSQL functions stored procedures indexing and replication.
Strong understanding of data types partitioning performance tuning and query optimization.
Experience with Azure cloud services networking basics IAM monitoring and deployments.
Familiarity with ETL tools migration utilities and scripting languages (Python Shell Bash).
Experience with high availability setups like Patroni Streaming Replication or PgPool.

Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with containerized environments (Docker Kubernetes).
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform ARM Bicep).
Understanding of DevOps practices for database pipelines.
Exposure to other cloud platforms (AWS GCP) is a plus.
