Senior Engineer, Structures- I&I, REC

We are seeking a senior structural engineer who will be able to help us grow our design team in structures department with their technical expertise with having worked on overseas projects to international codes. You should have led buildings projects with multiple typologies from concept to detailed design stage. Your duty will be to design and manage UK projects from India (Gurgaon) while liaising with virtual team across the country and in the UK.

You must have a masters degree in structures from an institute of repute.  Experience of around 4-6 years but not necessarily in number of years but in developing ways of working in a structural-design- team though the lessons learned over years of practice. Basic knowledge of how either of ETABS ROBOT or TEKLA structural designer (TSD) work and working with MS excel will be required.  Revit and AUTOCAD basics will be added depth knowledge of in-situ Concrete and Steel work design commercial acumen and people managing skills are the qualities we are looking for.

Required knowledge and skills: 

1. Good understanding of Reinforced Concrete and Steel structures. 

1. Knowledge of engineering techniques and design calculation principles. 

1. Hands on experience of design tools like Strusoft FEM Idea Statica Robot etc. 

1. Knowledge of applicable codes and standards preferably international codes like Eurocodes. 

1. Experience in projects related to Buildings/Industrial steel structures. 

1. Basic understanding of Revit and Tekla is beneficial. 

1. Ensure designs comply with international and local standards (e.g. Eurocodes ACI IS Codes BS Codes). 

You will join our Global Engineering Centre department

As our new Senior Engineer - Structures you will be part of Ramboll Engineering Centre (REC) that was established as a dedicated institution for creating the excellence centre in Ramboll. REC focusses on providing global expertise using local resources from India. Facilitates cooperation between India business units in Europe and the Middle East specifically for the Buildings Transport and Water sectors.

This big team is divided into groups of dedicated personnel working for structures in UK Denmark Sweden Finland and Norway who sometimes also work across these boundaries. They are virtual team mates working on common projects prime business units in the above countries being the ones who coordinate with the clients and other consultants as well as with REC to pass on the design solutions to the user. The wide range in type of projects vary from high rise structures to precast to post tensioning etc. for some regions to industrial structures depending on the country you are working for. The most attractive thing is in spite of the challenges of working across continents because of the culture of planning ahead and ability to understand each others needs everyone works in a peaceful and lively manner enjoyment and empowerment being some of the Ramboll values.
