Job Summary
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop the project scope using design narratives drawings and discussions with the Senior Engineer project manager or owner asking clarifying questions as needed.
- Meet with the owner/client to refine scope gather available drawings conduct site inspections and coordinate with the PM to ensure a smooth and informed design process.
- Coordinate with internal and external disciplines the Authority Having Jurisdiction and the owner/client to ensure integrated and compliant design solutions.
- Apply advanced knowledge of codes and standards to equipment selection and system layout including NFPA 70 101 and 72.
- Prepare design calculations for equipment sizing and selection.
- Engage vendors as necessary to support technical decisions.
- Complete design of building electrical systems and incorporate owner/client comments or modifications throughout the design process.
- Edit technical specifications for project-specific requirements.
- Provide redlines direction and mentorship to designers and technicians; review deliverables for quality and consistency.
- Attend client meetings and communicate action items to project team members.
- Document all communication to and from the client to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Ensure project performance meets client expectations company standards and technical quality requirements.
- Plan schedule and coordinate detailed phases of engineering work maintaining compliance with company guidelines practices and policies.
- Support multidisciplinary coordination and foster a collaborative team approach to project completion including navigating highly complex or non-routine project challenges.
Qualifications
- 10 years of electrical design and drafting experience.
- Revit proficiency required; AutoCAD proficiency acceptable.
- Proficiency with NFPA 70 101 and 72.
- Strong understanding of general engineering practices and discipline-specific codes.
- Proficiency in standard industry software relevant to electrical design
- Proficient in Microsoft 365
- COINS experience preferred
