TRAVEL: This position involves substantial in-district travel as a regular function of the role. Limited out-of-district travel (approximately 5%) may be required.

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Promote economic development by supporting new expanding and existing industrial businesses through the development of workforce training programs. Drive Workforce and Economic Development (WED) enrollment growth within the energy transportation manufacturing and skilled trades industries by proactively identifying cultivating and securing customized training partnerships. This position is responsible for achieving measurable enrollment growth revenue targets and new client acquisition goals within assigned target industries as established annually by Workforce and Economic Development leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct targeted industry visits to build and maintain strong relationships with in-district Autry Tech clients and identify workforce gaps with new training opportunities within assigned target industries.
  2. Generate and close new business through cold calls lead follow-up networking referrals and the development of customized training solutions designed to increase WED enrollment.
  3. Utilize Microsoft Dynamics to document client interactions manage activities track opportunities from prospecting through contract execution and maintain accurate records to ensure timely next steps and follow-up opportunities for WED.
  4. Collaborate with the WED team to understand training(s) and certification(s) being delivered and to ensure that all training programs align with current industry standards and can be effectively positioned to meet client workforce needs.
  5. Provide support in identifying and recommending qualified instructors or contractors as needed to fulfill training contracts secured within assigned target industries.
  6. Support evaluation efforts by gathering client feedback and communicating concerns to WED leadership to ensure quality delivery and client satisfaction.
  7. Utilize course/class pricing techniques established by Autry Tech to develop cost-effective strategies related to fees/tuition instructor compensation and facility scheduling.
  8. Coordinate with partner organizations such as the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance and the Enid Regional Development Alliance to ensure clients are aware of all available resources and to expand outreach and generate qualified business leads.
  9. Support efforts to maintain consistent quality across facilities training programs and client services to enhance client satisfaction and strengthen long-term partnerships.
  10. Assist in public relations activities designed to promote WED initiatives strengthen community relationships and foster positive public engagement that supports enrollment growth within assigned industries.
  11. Provide occasional on-site support for assigned classes or events within assigned industries including opening or closing sessions when coverage is needed to ensure continuity of client services.
  12. Maintain professional competence by participating in relevant professional development staying informed on technological trends and monitoring industry changes affecting business and industry training to identify partnership opportunities.
  13. Participate in community boards and organizations that strengthen Autry Tech presence and partnerships and contribute to lead generation efforts.
  14. Prepare and submit reports and required documentation for Workforce & Economic Development administration including tracking client acquisition and enrollment growth.
  15. Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelors degree in a related field preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Highly self-motivated and results driven with the ability to work independently
  • Strong prospecting cold-calling and relationship-building skills
  • Technology proficient including experience in Microsoft Dynamics is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Skilled at engaging executive-level decision-makers and identifying workforce and training solutions tailored to industry needs

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years of experience in business development consultative sales or account management preferably within the energy transportation manufacturing or skilled trade industries.

PHYSICAL FACTORS:

  • Position is based in Enid OK
  • Position requires work in multiple environments including office settings classrooms and industry facilities such as manufacturing plants transportation sites and skilled trades environments. Duties may involve both indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Work may involve prolonged periods of computer use sitting standing walking and driving to business and industry locations. Physical demands include sitting standing walking bending stooping kneeling crawling pushing pulling reaching handling finger dexterity feeling hearing near acuity far acuity depth perception field of vision (naturally or with correction) isolation and eye-hand coordination. Occasional lifting up to 30 pounds may be required.
  • Perform under stress when confronted with emergency critical unusual or dangerous situations or situations in which working with speed and sustained attention are critical aspects of the job.
  • Environmental conditions may include exposure to varying temperatures moderate to loud noise levels dust mechanical equipment and industrial air quality conditions. Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when visiting certain industry sites.
