Atlantic Unions Summer Internship program is a professional development opportunity for local students to gain practical work experience helping students become better prepared to enter into the financial industry post-graduation. Students have the ability to build professional networks and receive training and mentoring throughout the program.
Atlantic Unions Wealth Management Intern Program is designed to give college students an introduction into wealth management. It is our intent to give the Intern real assignments. Assignments that stretch the Intern provide the Intern with valuable experience and allow the Intern to contribute to the Wealth Management Department.
Position Accountabilities
The Intern is provided assignments that include all areas of wealth management such as financial planning trust operations portfolio management and trust administration. The intern will have the opportunity to:
- Perform investment research
- Review of investment portfolio strategy.
- Shadow and assist with the preparation of a financial plan.
- Shadow and perform system conversion work.
- Shadow and assist with trust administration work and estate planning.
Organizational Relationship
This position reports to the Wealth Management Director - Financial Planning and has an Olney MD residency with trips to Richmond VA.
Position Qualifications
Education Experience and Position Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Currently working on degree in Finance or Economics
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university is required and Students must be undergraduates entering their junior or senior year or currently pursuing a graduate level degree
- Must be available to work a 40-hour week Monday through Friday
- Must submit a resume and cover letter highlighting accomplishments professional and academic goals and expectations of this internship position
- Submission of transcripts and two professional or academic references
Knowledge & Skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and organization skills
- Must be able to function well with indirect supervision
