Anchor Community Care Limited (Anchor) is seeking an experienced and values-driven leader to serve as Board Chair.
This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic leadership to a respected community organisation committed to delivering high-quality care and support services. The Chair plays a critical role in ensuring strong governance financial sustainability and alignment with Anchors mission and values.
About the Role
The Board Chair provides strategic oversight and governance leadership working in close partnership with the CEO and Board to ensure organisational performance accountability and long-term sustainability.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the Board in governance and strategic planning
- Overseeing organisational performance risk and compliance (including ACNC and ASIC obligations)
- Supporting coaching and overseeing the performance of the CEO
- Ensuring strong financial oversight frameworks are in place
- Facilitating effective and inclusive Board discussions
- Representing Anchor with key stakeholders and within the community
About You
You are an experienced Board leader with:
- Demonstrated governance expertise within the not-for-profit sector
- Experience chairing Boards or senior governance committees
- Strong strategic capability and financial oversight experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- A commitment to ethical leadership and community impact
This is a three-year appointment with a Directors fee to be negotiated.
Non-Executive Director Opportunities
Anchor is also seeking additional Board Directors to complement the existing skills of the Board.
Following a review of our Board Skills Matrix we are particularly seeking individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Board experience or experience working closely with a Board
- Community services or health sector knowledge
- Fundraising
- People & Culture
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander representation
