Working Student (mfd) Machine Learning Computer Vision

In this role you will support the development of machinelearning models for classifying cutting tools using images text descriptions and technical parameters. The position focuses on applied machine learning and computer vision in an industrial environment.

You can support us in this exciting role starting on either March 1 2026 or April 1 2026 with a Duration of 6 Months

YOUR TASKS

• Support the development training and evaluation of multimodal machine-learning models with a focus on imagetext models (e.g. CLIP-like architectures).

• Work with image data (product photos 2D renders technical drawings) and textual descriptions derived from product and classification data.

• Prepare clean analyze and annotate datasets for imagetext alignment and classification tasks.

• Design and evaluate different prompting and text-representation strategies for improving imagetext embedding quality.

• Assist with model training experimentation and benchmarking including ablation studies and performance analysis.

• Implement prototypes and analytical workflows in Python (e.g. data pipelines evaluation scripts visualization).

• Document experiments results and insights to support further research and product development.

WHAT YOU OFFER

• Enrolled Masters or PhD student in: Computer Science Artificial Intelligence Data Science Machine Learning or a comparable technical field.

• Strong programming skills in Python with a solid understanding of machine learning and deep learning.

• Experience with frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.

• Strong technical comprehension quick learning ability and a creative solutionoriented mindset.

• A structured independent and reliable way of working combined with a collaborative teamoriented attitude.

• Excellent communication skills in English; German skills are a plus.

• Enjoyment in working with people as well as with technical software.
