Duty Days: 230 days per year
This position is grant funded and continuation is dependent upon satisfactory performance and availability of grant funds.
Primary Purpose:
The North Texas Adult Education and Literacy (NTAEL) Intake Specialist is critical to the success of our students staff and the program. The administrative support role duties can vary on program needs but ultimately all duties are to assist in ensuring the program provides the best services possible to all served while assisting with compliance of program district and state requirements.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
- Previous clerical office and customer service experience preferred.
- Adult Education and Literacy preferred
Special Knowledge and Skills
- Bilingual preferred
- Must have excellent communication and computer skills to include proficient use knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Internet and Social Media platforms
- Exemplify a spirit of teamwork and commitment by balancing team and individual responsibilities
- Demonstrates professionalism by approaching others in a tactful manner; reacts well under pressure; treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; accepts responsibilities for own actions; and follows through with commitments
- Ability to work under pressure and within tight time frames
- Willing to work in a busy environment with numerous interruptions
- Willing to work occasional weekends and evenings
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Answer phone email social media and direct inquiries about program enrollment services and or re-direct to appropriate staff
- Call students to setup appointments for enrollment assessments and any needed documentation
- Administer score and proctor program diagnostic tests in person and or virtually
- Assist initiate new student folders and maintain student records in compliance with all policies
- Organize use and maintain program supplies materials and equipment
- Assist with intake and orientation events
- Assist in providing community and social service referrals and support for students
- Ensure student assessment data is verified in TEAMS as appropriate for accuracy and compliance when administering tests
- Assist in collecting data for reports
- Assist as backup to Data Specialist staff duties
- Assist with technology screening and support of students
- Follow directions and work as an effective member of the team to ensure the success of the program
- Check Denton ISD assigned email daily
- Stay current with program district and state policies and guidance
Other Related Duties:
- Follows district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Participates in professional development department meetings and special events as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools and Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; district-wide and occasional statewide travel
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
