Key Job Responsibilities:
- Facilitates classroom online and/or laboratory instruction for one or more courses including assessment of student performance
- Develops instructional design and curriculum relevant to a course of instruction
- Serves as an initial point of contact for students as it relates to specific course or series content and expectations
Each department at the University of Wisconsin Stoutcanmaintainan ongoing search to serve as a pool of potential instructors for program needs. If hired from this pool the instructor will be under the general supervision of the relevant department chair.
The instructoris responsible forteachingcourses asassigned.Teaching involvespreparing for and holding classes in the modality assignedmaintainingcurrency in the content area related to the teaching assignment evaluating students work assessing student outcomes providing regular and substantive feedback on student workmaintainingappropriate records and holding office hours.Other duties may be assigned by the chair or dean.
Department and/or College Description
The(OPDE) program is a collaboration between the Teaching Learning and Leadership Department and Stout Online at UW-Stout. The OPDE program offersfully online graduate level professional development courses and certificate programs designed for working adults and educatorsseekingto advance their careers in areas such as Instructional Design Mathematics Instruction and Reading Instruction. Many OPDE courses can be applied towards teaching license renewal or used as electives for UW-Stout degree programs. The OPDE programs curriculum is designed and taught by experienced practitioners and instructors at UW-Stout and across the country.For a full listing ofOPDE courses please seeourwebsite.

Qualifications
Minimal/Required Qualifications:
Doctoratein relevant field ofcourse(s)orMasters Degreein relevant field 5 years of relevant professional experience
Professional experience in areas of expertise (Instructional Design MathematicsSpecialist ReadingTeacher Reading Specialist etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience teaching orfacilitatingonline courses for adult learners
Proficiencyin online learning management systems (Canvas etc.)
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office applications
Strong written and interpersonal skills
Fluency in oral and written English communication
