Were looking for anAdministrative Assistant 2to serve as the first point of contact at the agency creating a welcoming environment for veterans visitors and staff providing administrative support that keeps our front office running smoothly.This position is directly supervised by a Veterans Assistance Supervisor.
AN IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING COMPENTENCIES:- Accepting Direction:The ability to accept and follow directions from those higher in the chain of command.
- Communicating Effectively:The ability to relay information correctly and appropriately to connect people and ideas.
- Managing Resources:The ability to ensure resources such as time money and people are utilized appropriately to result in maximum business value.
- Thinking Critically:The ability to objectively question analyze interpret and evaluate information to form a conclusion.

Minimum Qualifications
One year of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for six months of the required experience.

Job Duties:
As an Administrative Assistant youll help create a positive first impression for every person who walks through our doors.
In this role you will:
- Performs recurring clerical/administrative duties to include: screening telephone calls and recording messages and refer to appropriate staff
- Prepares and files routine visitors log sheets
- Responsible for establishing and maintaining files
- Keep records of internal office reports and correspondence
- Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
- Schedule appointments and assist with completing state benefit forms
- Assist office visitors requiring routine responses or assistance
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: When Actually Employed (WAE); 1250 hours within a 12-month period (part-time)
Career Progression: This position does not participate in a Career Progression Group.
Work Schedule:Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Monday - Friday.
Compensation:The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
