Position Duties/Responsibilities
As an Assistant Professor of Management the appointee will be responsible for fulfilling teaching research and service responsibilities as a member of McNeeses AACSB-accredited College of Business. A successful candidate must meet the College of Business criteria for Scholarly Academic (SA) status in accordance with AACSB standards.
The candidate must have a Ph.D. or D.B.A. in management from an AACSB-accredited institution and must meet the College of Business criteria for Scholarly Academic (SA) status in accordance with AACSB standards. The position requires teaching different management courses likely including both foundation-level courses (e.g. Principles of Management) and junior/senior-level courses (e.g. Strategic Management). Preference will be given to applicants who are flexible as to teaching and research interests. The position appointee must generate intellectual contributions to keep current in his/her field and to comply with the Colleges criteria on academic qualifications for AACSB accreditation addition the appointee will advise students and perform appropriate departmental college university and community service.
ABD candidates may be considered if the degree completion date is on or near the date of employment. Candidates should be able to demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching and intellectual contributions as well as exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Required/Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Earned Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management or a closely related field in an AACSB-accredited program within an AACSB-accredited College of Business. (ABD candidates may be considered if the degree completion date is on or near the date of employment)
- Evidence of effective communication and the potential for leadership.
- Willingness to engage in institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction mentoring and curriculum design and development.
- Commitment to maintain collegiality.
- Demonstrated commitment to advancing research and scholarship agenda
Preferred:
- Experience teaching in-person and online
- Experience with Canvas LMS
- Willingness to advise student business organizations (e.g. FBLA SHRM etc.)
