Position Summary
Arkansas Arts Academy is seeking a highly qualified and innovative educator to teach Computer Science at the high school level in grades 8 through 12. This position is responsible for delivering rigorous standards-aligned instruction that prepares students for college careers and industry pathways in technology. The ideal candidate fosters problem solving computational thinking creativity and ethical technology use.
Primary Responsibilities
Plan and deliver standards-aligned instruction in computer science courses which may include foundational computing programming robotics cybersecurity data science and related technology pathways
Teach core concepts such as algorithms programming logic software development data structures and digital systems
Integrate hands-on project-based learning experiences
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
Assess student progress and maintain accurate academic records
Prepare students for advanced coursework certifications or concurrent credit opportunities when applicable
Promote responsible digital citizenship and ethical technology practices
Collaborate with faculty to support cross-curricular integration and STEM initiatives
Participate in required meetings professional development and school events
Qualifications
Bachelors degree required
Must hold a valid Arkansas teaching license with appropriate secondary certification in Computer Science or an approved Career and Technical Education technology area
Demonstrated knowledge of computer science principles and instructional best practices
Experience with programming languages such as Python Java C or similar preferred
Strong classroom management and communication skills
