Parzival Supports is a Human Services Provider located in Phoenixville PA. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Residential Services Director to work with us on continuing to build upon a culture of person-centered care for those we support and dedicate time to intentional team development and growth. Whats it like to be a Residential Services Director at Parzival Supports
To thrive as the Residential Services Director at Parzival Supports both technical and soft skills are required. A major part of your role is to be the Culture Carrier of the organization. This means modeling effective strategies in real-time to guide staff through challenging role requires creativity and thinking outside of the box when it comes to individual and team challenges. You will inspire your team by modeling curiosity patience and creativity while guiding staff in supporting individual independence alongside recognizing limitations.
While this role has administrative functions it is primarily hands-on requiring you to visit individuals host team meetings and attend organizational events regularly. During these visits and meetings you will evaluate the quality of life for each individual ensuring their living situation fosters meaningful relationships and engagement within the community. Alongside upholding safety and compliance your oversight will involve collaborating with the CEO and diverse professionals ensuring the holistic needs of individuals are met while bridging the gap between high-level management and day-to-day operations.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
*Masters (preferred) or Bachelors degree in Social Work Human Services Management or in related fields and 3 or more years of work experience.
*Cultural Leadership & Mentorship Skills: You are the Culture Carrier for the organization. We are a holistic organization that prioritizes whole wellness for our individuals and meaningful training and support for our staff.
*Active Modeling: You dont just tell staff how to handle challenging situations; you step in and show them using on-the-spot teaching.
*Professional Development: You identify where staff are struggling and arrange specific training to bridge those gaps ensuring the team evolves alongside the residents.
*Conflict Resolution: You act as a mediator to ensure that friction between staff or between staff and residents doesnt disrupt the therapeutic environment.
*Person-Centered Advocacy: The role moves away from a custodial care model to a fulfillment model.
*Discovery: You are responsible for unearthing the specific often unspoken goals of the individuals.
*Community Expansion: You ensure residents arent just living in a house but are active participants in the local community expanding their social circles and experiences. This means meeting with individuals to determine their interests and goals and finding activities in the community that accomplish that.
*Admissions: You help decide who joins the program ensuring new residents are a good fit for the existing house chemistry.
*Supervisory Rhythm: You manage the Program Managers through consistent 1:1 meetings acting as their primary troubleshooter and performance evaluator.
*Executive Partnership: You serve as the bridge between the front lines and the executive office.
*CEO Liaison: You provide the CEO with the ground-level data needed to make high-level decisions.
*Strategic Planning: As part of the Executive Leadership Team you help shape the long-term vision of Parzival representing the needs of both the staff and the individuals supported.
Main Responsibilities
- Works closely with the CEO and consults with them on all matters that would impact individuals may be related to contact with families individuals staff and outside professional and staff personnel.
- Teaches and promotes the values established by Parzivals culture and approach.
- Participates in Admissions decisions and planning with the CEO program specialists program managers and other staff members.
- Assures the availability/accessibility of life in the community in accordance with the interests and abilities of each individual.
- Arranges for and promotes the relevant learning and development of staff.
- Is a vital part of the executive leadership team with the Chief Executive Officer and Human Resources Executive.
- Provides advice and supervisory backup for 24/7 on-call services when appropriate.
- Evaluates and supervises the performance of the Program Managers.
- Facilitates and promotes conflict resolution between staff.
- Promotes On-the-spot teaching techniques and approaches and modeling while supporting staff during challenging situations.
- Participates and collaborates with program managers in staff meetings making sure they take place regularly and are well structured and attended.
- Routinely conducts 1:1 meetings with program managers and is available to troubleshoot as things come up.
- Ensure the Program Managers and Direct Care Professionals (DSPs) are providing the quality of care to people they support in alignment with Parzivals culture.
- Oversees the coordination and structure development of community engagement and opportunities
- Participates in creating opportunities for professional social and community development within Parzival and outside for all individuals.
- Have a deep understanding of person-centered approaches and are able to model and articulate this to families staff and the people being supported..
- Maintains a minimum of 24 hours of training annually in addition to the required regulatory training.
- Good knowledge of 6400 & 6100 regulations (Pennsylvanias Chapter 6400 regulations (55 Pa. Code Chapter 6400) which set minimum standards for operating Community Homes for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities or Autism).
- Complete other duties as assigned by the CEO and or required under the job role responsibilities
