Salary Recruitment Range: $60881 - $90000
DPS uses the Merit-Based Recruitment and Selection Plan to fill positions subject to the State Human Resources Act with the most qualified individuals.
The Minimum Education and Experience (E&E) is REQUIRED to qualify for this position. Management Preferences including Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) are not required but may be used to determine the pool of most qualified applicants. Managers may also choose to interview/select applicants who demonstrate Management Preferences.
All work history and education (including accurate dates of employment and/or attendance) must be documented on the application. Work experience may include internships volunteerism and full and part-time work. Management Preferences:
Experience investigatingincidents and/orinjuries involving acts of violence.
Experience developingand/ordelivering safety-related training using Cornerstone LMS.
Experience writing reportswithrecommendations referencing federal and/or state safety codes/regulations.
Experience inspecting a site for health safetyand/orsecurity concerns according to OSHA NFPAand/orACA regulations/standards.
Experience performing periodic surveillanceand/oracting as a designated personfor an AHERA management plan.

Transcripts
Attaching transcripts is optional however we recommend applicants attach unofficial transcripts to assist in providing credit for education including in substituting education gained for experience. Additionally qualifying for some positions may require validating hours of coursework in a specific field of study and transcripts are crucial to awarding credit. Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree with a major in safety engineering industrial engineering industrial management or technology occupational safety or one of the physical sciences or an equivalent technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and a minimum of three years of progressive occupational and safety and health experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
