Job Description:
Position: Graduate Assistant Field Hockey Coach
Fairfield University is currently seeking a graduate assistant field hockey keeping with the Universitys Jesuit mission and identity candidates must be committed to the equity welfare and sporting conduct of our student-athletes.
The graduate assistant coach will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach in all areas of program development and operations supporting a competitive NCAA Division I field hockey program.
Responsibilities:
Serve as an assistant coach for the field hockey program
Assist in the planning organization and execution of practices
Contribute to game preparation scouting and film analysis
Support recruiting efforts including prospect evaluation communication and organization of recruiting data
Provide administrative support related to team travel and daily program operations
Assist with purchasing accounts payable processes and budget-related tasks
Assist with equipment and apparel ordering inventory and management
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head Coach and Assistant Coach
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required
Collegiate field hockey playing and/or coaching experience
Knowledgeable of and committed to following Fairfield University NCAA and Coastal Athletic Conference (CAA) rules and guidelines
Highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic
Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint)
Preferred but not required: Experience with video analysis technology (e.g. Spiideo)
Reports to:Head Field Hockey Coach
This position includes a stipend of $12000 in addition to tuition remission for up to 18 credits per year. The appointment is a one- or two-year commitment depending on the selected graduate program. Additional income opportunities may be available through summer camps.
