Quality Management Specialist (Aviation MRO)

QualityManagement Specialists assist the Manager Quality Systems in coordinating theQMS within MTU to ensure Company and Regulatory requirements are complied with.A suitable candidate must have the abilityto engage and manage Quality Techniques within the organization andactively participates in process improvement. Typical duties andresponsibilities include: the strategic development and implementation ofquality audit and improvement initiatives driving the overall QualityManagement System.

They are accountable forcommunicating the departments goals and objectives and they are able toinfluence raise awareness and lead others in the importance of Quality. Inaddition the Quality Management Specialist will be responsible for continuous improvement in the fieldof Quality and employ the principles of AS9110 Lean/6S and Kaizen and as wellas participating in quality training initiatives and overall corporateawareness programs.

Your Tasks:

Operational activities:

  • Monitor Company performance to establishedquality targets and recommend required change to achieve established qualitygoals and objectives
  • Manage supplier quality issues supplierquality approval and supplier quality performance
  • Ensure audit awareness and compliance areto the appropriate aviation and MTU standards through access and use of MTU ITtools for quality improvement
  • Lead/assist in the investigation of productor process non-conformances and implement corrective actions to preventrecurrence
  • Lead/assist in regulatory customer andthird party audits of the Company
  • Resolve non-conformances identified inregulatory customer and third party audits of the Company
  • Implement and maintain Approved MaintenanceOrganization status for the Company with foreign National Aviation Authoritiesand Transport Canada Civil Aviation
  • Communicate and interact with MTU networkto resolve common MRO-specific quality issues
  • Create quality reports for variouspurposes including both internal and external authorities
  • Projects initiatives and additional dutiesas assigned by the Manager Quality Systems

Proactive activities:

  • Perform internal and external compliance processand product quality audits
  • Develop and maintain Company QualityManagement System documentation (MPM OP WI)
  • Conduct audits including the closure of auditfindings creating audit finding reports and determining proper corrective andpreventive actions
  • Identify improvement initiatives for theCompany and liaise with applicable departments to realize improvements

Our Requirements:

  • Bachelor/University degree in an Engineering related area and 3-5 years experience in Quality Management or
  • The completion of college and other certificates in Quality Management plus 5-7 years experience in Quality or
  • Equivalent education and 5-7 years experience in Quality Management
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Operation System Windows
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office MS Access
  • Intermediate knowledge of SAP Quality specific functions/transactions is an asset
