About the Opportunity
A respected 99-bed hospital in the Irving Texas area is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager Med-Surg to provide 24/7 leadership and operational oversight of a dynamic Medical-Surgical department. This facility is known for delivering comprehensive services including trauma care cardiovascular services orthopedics spine and robotic surgery womens services and emergency care.
This is a key leadership role focused on clinical excellence operational efficiency and team development within a patient-centered environment.
Position Summary
The Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the Medical-Surgical unit. This includes ensuring alignment with the hospitals mission vision and strategic goals while maintaining a strong focus on quality outcomes staff engagement financial stewardship and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Provide 24/7 leadership and accountability for departmental operations.
Oversee daily operations including staffing scheduling payroll hiring performance evaluations coaching and competency validation.
Ensure high-quality safe patient care in alignment with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Monitor department performance metrics patient outcomes and financial performance.
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians patients families and interdisciplinary teams.
Support strategic planning and continuous process improvement initiatives.
Foster a positive collaborative and accountable team culture.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelors Degree in Nursing required.
Licensure:
Active Texas RN license or Compact RN license (eNLC compliant).
Experience:
Previous recent Department Director or Nurse Manager experience required.
A strong Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ready to transition into a Manager role will also be considered.
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Medical-Surgical experience required.
