Job Summary:

As a Site Reliability Engineering Lead you will play a critical role as a technology leader across multiple delivery teams working on a common domain. You will be accountable for reliability availability performance and operability outcomes of Class platforms balancing product delivery velocity with measurable service health in alignment with group objectives.

As a leader with deep technical and operational expertise you will guide teams in designing observable resilient and scalable systems standardising reliability and engineering practices and delivering change safely through incremental improvements. You will lead through clear service-level objectives continuous learning and datadriven decision making while coaching engineers towards high performance and sustainable SRE practices.

You will lead a team of Site Reliability Engineers who partner closely with platform and product teams to continuously improve system reliability performance and customer experience through engineering and automation.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of support and site reliability engineers to provide continual improvements to the tooling monitoring and reliability metrics within the platform.
  • Own and evolve observability standards across the platform including metrics logs traces and alerting ensuring systems are designed to be diagnosable in production.

  • Establish telemetry best practices across services ensuring consistent instrumentation and meaningful signals that support rapid incident detection and root cause analysis.
  • Drive a blameless incident management culture including incident response processes postincident reviews and followup reliability improvements that reduce repeat incidents and operational risk.
  • Partner with DevOps and platform teams to improve automated reliability controls within CI/CD pipelines including quality gates release health checks and progressive delivery where appropriate.
  • Use operational and delivery metrics (availability latency error rates toil MTTR) to identify systemic risks and prioritise engineering investment with clear business impact.
  • Influence product roadmaps to ensure operability resilience and supportability are firstclass considerations alongside feature delivery.
  • Ensure security compliance and reliability obligations are met through engineering controls rather than manual processes.
  • Work with product managers project managers and scrum masters to define and decompose product roadmaps. Ensure the roadmap development includes key technical aspects which continuously improve our ability to run and operate our products.
  • Assist in building out the Class Tech Radar and to drive change and improvements to Techniques Tools Languages and Platforms utilised across the teams.
  • Support the learning development and growth of others in the team and be a key contributor to the Class graduate program.

Requirements:

  • Handson experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Dynatrace Sumo Logic or equivalent enterprisegrade tools.
  • Proven capability in defining and managing SLIs SLOs and error budgets and using them to guide engineering and product tradeoffs.
  • Strong understanding of telemetry instrumentation and data quality ensuring signals are reliable actionable and aligned to customer outcomes.
  • Solid web development skills with deep understanding of microservice architectures utilising docker containers.
  • Advanced web development skills with knowledge of C# Javascript HTML and CSS.
  • Good working knowledge of AWS Postgres Bitbucket and Bamboo or related technologies.
  • Experience implementing continuous delivery DevOps SRE agile and lean practices in complex production environments.
  • Proven experience running and mentoring teams for high performance.
