Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion MI on a full-time basis.

The Role:

This role will require strong coordination technical problemsolving and team leadership to drive timely repairs maintain quality standards and keep production flow on this position you will support all departments with problem solving maintain yard organization manage process flow and effectiveness across the 3 shifts and participate in training and developing of salaried and hourly employees and in the development of highly effective teams. This role will require extended working hours and weekends.

What Youll Do:

  • Champion safe work practices and drive objectives for ergonomics health safety and housekeeping.
  • Motivate train and develop employees to perform effectively using standardized methods.
  • Maintain and communicate quality standards leveraging resources to resolve issues promptly.
  • Foster strong relationships with represented employees UAW leadership and salaried teams.
  • Administer National and Local Agreements between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union.
  • Participate in hiring training and evaluating employees while building highly effective teams.
  • Support and drive Final Repair TIP process with Shift leader and Plant staff
  • Set direction for assignment of work and react to non-standard conditions
  • Utilize problem solving to root cause and drive prevention of defects; loss to DRR and GCA
  • Implement Productivity Improvements
  • End of shift planning and reporting
  • Weekend planning and reporting
  • Manage Kronos
  • Coverage of other areas in the shop as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing or production leadership

  • Proven project management skills and ability to teach others.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint); Power BI and Access preferred.

  • Weekend work and extended hours is expected

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Final Repair at a General Motors Facility
  • General Assembly Experience (3 Years)
  • Mechanical background with Truck/SUV
