The VP Strategic Sourcing is responsible for overseeing the sourcing strategy on a global scale. This position involves leading a team of sourcing professionals developing sourcing strategies and establishing supplier relationships to optimize costs quality delivery and supply chain efficiency. The VP Strategic Sourcing plays a critical role in driving global sourcing initiatives mitigating supply chain risks and ensuring compliance with sourcing policies and regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the global sourcing team including hiring training mentoring and evaluating staff.
- Provide regular reports and updates on sourcing performance and key metrics to senior management.
- Identify evaluate and select global suppliers based on cost quality delivery capacity reliability and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance operations and quality to align sourcing strategies with business needs and support new product development.
- Focus near-term effort on resolving sourcing issues that are impeding customer deliveries.
- Analyze global market and economic trends to support sourcing decisions and evaluate supply chain risks including geopolitical economic and environmental factors.
- Implement sourcing best practices processes and tools to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct periodic supplier audits to ensure compliance with standards.
- Lead supplier relationship management to strengthen partnerships and drive long-term value.
- Drive sustainability and social responsibility initiatives in the sourcing and supply chain.
- Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance and standardization with sourcing contracts and international trade regulations to optimize cost and mitigate risks.
- Work with finance to develop and manage sourcing budgets cost models and cost reduction initiatives.
- Foster a culture consistent with Schumachers purpose core values and strategic anchors.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

Qualifications
- Education: bachelors degree in business supply chain management procurement or a related field. A masters degree preferred.
- Experience: 10 years proven experience in global sourcing and procurement including 7 years in a senior leadership role.
- Internal applicants: 6 months successful demonstration of current position responsibilities approval from current manager and a relevant combination of education continuing education and experience.
