Assistant Teacher / Chef
We are seeking a dependable and nurturing Assistant Teacher / Chef to support both our kitchen operations and classroom environment in our preschool. This dual-role position is responsible for preparing nutritious meals while assisting teachers with the supervision and care of young children. The ideal candidate is organized safety-focused flexible and passionate about working with children.
Responsibilities include:
Prepare and serve meals and snacks according to established menus and recipes
Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines; maintain a clean and organized kitchen
Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures and maintain proper food rotation
Deliver meals and water to classrooms; prepare bagged lunches for field trips
Monitor childrens allergies and dietary restrictions
Assist teachers with classroom supervision and daily activities
Support children during mealtimes transitions and learning activities
Help maintain a clean safe and organized classroom
Complete required classroom paperwork (attendance daily notes reports)
Attend staff meetings and academy events as requested
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or equivalent
Kitchen experience and knowledge of basic nutrition preferred
Current Food Manager/Safe Food Handler preferred CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
Ability to lift 50 pounds sit on the floor and actively engage with children
Professional dependable emotionally mature and team-oriented
